At first, take a start with eliminating excess slime from the surface with a knife. Then follow one of these simple methods to remove slime from the carpet left behind.
Method 1. Cleaning Slime with Ice Cubes
If the slime is still fresh in your carpet, then there’s no better way to remove it than by applying ice.
Apply ice cubes to the affected part of your carpet. Let it there for 10 minutes to freeze the slime. Now scrape that watery substance from the carpet.
You will notice there will be no residue left over. Dry the area and vacuum.
Method 2. Cleaning Slime with Dish Soap
Add 10 ml liquid soap to a cup of mild water. Take this in a spray bottle and shake. Now spray it onto the stain and wait for 5 minutes.
Doing so, you will see slime particles will start to disintegrate. Spray again and dab with a towel until the particles completely come off.
Wait till the area dries up, then vacuum it.
Method 3. Cleaning Slime with Vinegar and Water
Mix water and vinegar together, 1 and 2 portions respectively. Spray onto the affected area, and use a clean towel to disintegrate the slime.
Continue the process until the slime has been removed. Wait till the area dries up, then vacuum it.
Method 4. Cleaning Slime with Baking Soda and Vinegar
It is similar to the previous tip. You just need to sprinkle baking soda onto the slime before spraying the mixture of water and vinegar. It will give better results than the previous one.
Method 5. Cleaning Slime with Club Soda
Club soda gives your cleaning power a boost when cleaning your slime from the carpet.
It is naturally acidic and can act as a cleaning agent. It can make slime go away from your carpets and rugs easily.
Fill club soda in your spray bottle and spray it thoroughly on the stain. Leave it for 5 minutes, dab the area with a towel. Slime particles will get loose. Dry the area and vacuum.
Method 6. Cleaning Slime with Hydrogen Peroxide
If the above methods fail (rarely possible), try the hydrogen peroxide method. It is a chemical compound used as an oxidizer and bleaching agent. Not only that, but it can also remove stubborn stains of slime from the carpet or cloths.
In the spray bottle, combine hydrogen peroxide and water, and spray the stain. Allow the peroxide mixture to sit on it for at least five minutes before blotting with a sponge.
Repeat until the stain is gone, then use a cloth to dry the area.
